Cardio 101
You must have heard this question too
Does cardio on an empty stomach burn more fat
This is one of the many myths which circulate and people continue to believe in it
And is it true?
Far from it, you can do as much cardio as you want on an empty stomach, but you’ll not lose weight
Because losing weight is about calories
That means cardio does create a calorie deficit but what it also does is give you a ravenous hunger
So what’s the point of doing so much exercise and end up eating too many calories and you’re back where you started
It’s a simple game of calories, all you need to do is identify what kind of person you are, do you like to eat food in more volume or do you like to eat food in less volume
If you like to eat in a lot of volume, then you should prioritise eating low-calorie dense whole food
And if you like to eat in less volume, then you can enjoy cookies or ice cream
But still, it doesn’t matter what you eat, at the end of the day it’s about calories
And it would help if you counted the calories you need to consume to maintain your weight and when you finish consuming those calories in a day, then you can’t eat anything for the day
But what is the origin of this myth, I think this belief needs to end, where people feel after doing a little bit of work they do or eat whatever they want
But in reality, staying in good physical shape is about principles, in simple language, you need to grow up and stop eating like a child
Cardio is not some magic, it just burns more calories than weightlifting
